She helps clients improve their lifestyle to optimize their health to achieve their goals and develop sustainable habits to live a healthy and balanced life.
Dr. Melissa Mondala is a triple specialist in family medicine, lifestyle medicine, and primary care psychiatry. She is one of the first and youngest nationally recognized lifestyle medicine fellows and is a strong community health advocate. She is the co-founder of the Dr. Lifestyle Clinic.
She is extremely passionate about the science of human nutrition. She is always up to date with the latest research, theories, and practices. Most importantly, she uses that knowledge to make individualized recommendations for her clients.

MY STORY – You can trust me!
I went to medical school in Chicago Medical School (Rosalind Franklin University), received two Masters of Biomedical Sciences and Health Administration, I went to one of the blue zones – Loma Linda University for family medicine residency and lifestyle & integrative medicine fellowship. I’m double board-certified in family medicine and lifestyle medicine and an expert in healthy behaviors.
For my entire career, I’ve loved studying human behaviors. I saw how many got stuck in bad habits and struggled to get help, take their medications, or get healthier. I saw patients being trapped in a revolving door that led to frequent doctor’s visits, hospitalization, and eventually an early death. I witnessed the power of life-saving procedures and medications, but it was mostly temporary because most people went back to their same life and unhealthy patterns.
This is not a magical pill or high tech futuristic machine, this is a method, routine, a lifestyle that can keep you healthy, out of the hospital, and less dependent on medications.
The results are real and last!
I lost 15 lbs which for a small framed woman that is a gamechanger! I got long-lasting energy and my acne went away. My mood improved and I no longer had anxiety or depression pull me down.
Every day, I am thankful for this lifestyle, my body, and the ability to recognize negative self-talk and self-destructive behaviors.
I was a completely different person! I embraced it and so did my husband and immediate family! I knew I had to practice medicine differently and that there was no turning back.

I wanted to see lasting change in my patients without reaching for prescription medications on every visit. I knew the best way to provide care was to restore the doctor-patient relationship.
